The Sartell base-map, combined with other GIS maps, helps the City manage and inventory its assets. The base map identifies lot lines, right-of-ways, annotated street names, and lot dimensions. City staff can overlay this base map with any combination of other maps, such as zoning, city limits, road centerline, utility, or ownership/parcels, to create a customized picture of the City to help understand its needs and execute projects.
In Sartell, the base map is used to create a separate life-cycle database, which identifies discrete elements of the water system, sanitary sewer system, and storm sewer system. The City uses this system to easily access information in a timely manner.
