The St. Cloud Area Joint Planning District Plan was the product of a cooperative effort involving five cities—Sartell, Sauk Rapids, St. Cloud, St. Joseph and Waite Park—as well as Benton, Sherburne and Stearns Counties. Bonestroo’s planners worked with these communities to develop this 20-year comprehensive planning and growth management effort.

The Plan evolved through market analysis and information sharing. Extensive feedback was incorporated from citizens, staff, and public officials through an intensive process of public input, analysis, dialogue, and continuous refinement. The project was the first of its kind in both scope and scale outside the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
