Without leaving the water, a person can scale a floating water walk, glide through a bridge-covered channel, and swim a few laps at this $3.7 million aquatic center. This single water body not only accommodates the recreational and competitive swimming communities, but incorporates a single filtration system that saves the City money.
A successful recreational and competitive swimming balance was achieved through collaboration with the City Council, City staff, and community groups. We tackled the challenge of custom fitting the new aquatic center to the old swimming pool site, while minimizing impacts to the surrounding fully-mature natural area.
In its first operating season, attendance was nearly quadrupled from the last year the original pool operated.
