Wastewater Treatment Facility, Camp Ripley, MN
Designers worked within a confined site and with a restricted budget to construct this Minnesota Department of Military Affairs (MDMA) facility. Design space was limited, and building a new facility on another site would disqualify the MDMA from receiving renovation funding.

Designers demolished and rebuilt the existing facility, while maintaining uninterrupted treatment. Updated facilities include primary and final clarifiers, mechanical screens, anaerobic sludge digestion, solids contact tank for the TF/SC process, chlorination, trickling filters, disinfection, and aerated grit removal.

The facility’s capacity is 3.8 million gallons per day at peak flow.
