Wastewater Treatment Facility, Hudson, WI
Booming population growth prompted a wastewater treatment facility expansion. Challenges included limited space, agency regulations, proximity to a protected waterway, an endangered species habitat, and a residential neighborhood.

A unique construction method helped fit the facility into a restricted site, and blend with the landscape. A retaining wall holds back the river bluff and serves as both a building and tank wall. Treatment processes meet standards for discharge to the St. Croix River.
