Bonestroo's water treatment plant feasibility study indicated a 16 million gallon per day (mgd) facility was needed to serve Chaska's growing population.  

The facility includes two forced draft aerators, 45 minutes of detention at design flow, six gravity-type filter cells, three backwash retention tanks, a 750,000 gallon clearwell, and a high lift pumping capacity of 15,000 gpm. A conference room and educational spaces encourage community access and facility use, while the building exterior expresses the City's architectural image through use of Chaska’s signature yellow brick.
