Water Treatment Facility, Marshfield, WI

Bonestroo met Marshfield’s goals for improving water quality and minimizing operator attention at the City’s Water Treatment Facility. The water contained radon and trihalomethanes, as well as high iron and manganese concentrations.

Treatment processes in the automated plant link to the SCADA system, allowing plant operations to be easily monitored and precisely controlled. Operator attention is required only two hours daily, resulting in a $3 million cost savings over the facility’s life. Average capacity is 3.33 mgd with 5.0 mgd peak capacity.
