Plan improvements feature two separate 2.0 million gallons per day (mgd) water treatment facilities constructed side by side. The design included completely reconstructing four of the plant’s eight filters.

Bonestroo's design included repairs to sedimentation basins, replacing four paddlewheel flocculators and two rapid mixers, renovating the fluoride and granular-activated carbon-feed systems, constructing a second plant shorewell, and installing an air wash blower system. A new SCADA fully automated the plant.
