Water Resource Expert Phil Elkin, PE Joins Bonestroo

    St. Paul, MN (July 23, 2010) - Bonestroo welcomes Phil Elkin, PE as senior water resource engineer. Elkin brings more than 17 years of experience consulting municipalities on stormwater and wetland management, drainage plan review and investigation, stormwater and wetland regulation, permitting, lake restoration, and water quality analysis.

    Recognized as a water resource expert, Elkin has championed environmentally-sensitive resource management and land development practices and raised public awareness through water management programs in Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Illinois.  He has extensive experience working with regulatory agencies and administering the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act (WCA) on behalf of cities.    

    “Phil has a varied water resources background, including four years as a water resource coordinator for a metro area city. His public experience combined with his consulting work gives him a unique perspective that will allow us to better understand and serve our clients,” says Dan Edgerton, Bonestroo’s Water and Natural Resources Team Leader.

    Phil earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College. He is active in the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers and the City Engineers Association of Minnesota.
