Salt Creek Streambank Stabilization

Through a combination of creativity and cooperation in an established residential area, Bonestroo was able to control streambank erosion in a residential area using a long-term, aesthetically-pleasing solution which helped increase both resident satisfaction and property values. Balanced use of engineering techniques in an aesthetically-pleasing manner created a positive public image, particularly with local residents. The improvements produced secondary benefits by replacing the highly-eroded stream banks with deep-rooted prairie vegetation. These in-stream structures also provided additional habitat areas.
